Theatre at Lakewood High School is centered on its students. Every production depends on their creativity, energy, and commitment. Students take on a wide range of roles, from acting and singing to designing sets, managing lights and sound, and coordinating stage management. Every contribution matters.
Each student is encouraged to explore different areas of theatre. Some focus on performing, learning how to develop characters, project their voices, and connect with an audience. Others gain hands-on experience in technical theatre, learning skills like set construction, lighting design, costume creation, and sound operation. Leadership opportunities allow students to grow beyond their individual roles.
Students work together throughout the entire production process, from initial rehearsals to final performances. They learn to collaborate, solve problems in real time, and adapt when unexpected challenges arise. These experiences teach responsibility, teamwork, and time management in a creative, practical setting.
Beyond skill-building, LHSTC offers a community where students support one another, share ideas, and celebrate accomplishments together. Students form lasting connections and a sense of pride in their work, knowing that every production is the result of their combined effort.
In order to participate in any of the extra-curricular events or productions that the LHSTC has every year, students must become members of the LHS Theatre Company. To do so, fill out the form below and pay your membership dues to one of the directors or the Treasurer within one week of filling out the membership form. For the 2025-2026 season, dues are $40 and go to purchase snacks for various meetings, end of the year honors, and more, directly for the members of the Company. These dues may be paid in cash or check (made out the LHS Theatre Company). If the membership fee poses a hardship, please talk to Mr. Smykil, Mr. Eatherton, or the Treasurer for assistance.
In addition to the membership form, all students must fill out the LHS Activities Arbiter. DO NOT CREATE a new account if you have previously participated in LHS Athletics or went to middle school in DPS. A step by step guide can be found below. Begin creating an Arbiter account by following THIS LINK.
